50% albillo and 50% tempranillo (local: tinto fino). The sticks were planted in 1905, pre-phylloxera. The 'grand cru' vineyard is located at an altitude of 1000 meters, with a soil that has a top layer of 30 to 50 cm of sand and a layer of limestone underneath. The plot is completely organically cultivated by David Hernando.
2019 was a year with a hot, dry summer. At the end of June there was even a heat wave. However, the water surplus of 2018 helped the plants to get through that period well. The bunches are pressed in their entirety: actually this is a clarete. Fermentation in French oak barrels of 600 liters. The wine then matures further 'sur lie' in the barrels to bottling. Le Rosé of 2019 is at once intense and elegant, balanced.
Aromas of peach, flowers, fine wood. Mineral. Soft touch, creamy, juicy with a remarkable structure. One of the few rosé's that will age nicely in the bottle.
