
100% Tempranillo (known locally as Tinto Fino). Vines planted in 1922, pre-Phylloxera. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 950 metres. The ground consists of a sand topsoil over a clay subsoil. 18 months in French oak barrels. 13,000 bottles produced. Intense blackcurrant, liquorice root, tobacco, herbs, ... Full-bodied in the mouth, but still remarkably nimble for this type of wine. Fresh acids, interwoven tannins that still have further to evolve, nice structure and a very long finish. Preferably pour into a carafe an hour or so ahead of time. Pairs with grilled meat, pâtés, game, stews, ...
