70% Garnacha, 30% Syrah. The Garnacha comes from 15- to 30-year-old vines; the Syrah ones are 10 years old. Both are planted on an arid clay and slate soil. Three months' ageing in first and second year French oak barrels. Nice concentrated cherry red colour. Intense nose of ripe red fruit and herbs with light hints of toast. Balanced with a good structure and a long, juicy finish. Pairs with steak, pasta and tomato sauce, stews, hard cheeses.
