60% Garnacha, 40% Cariñena (known locally as Samsò). Separate vinification, partly in stainless steel tanks, partly in concrete tanks. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation and 12 months' further ageing in 225 and 500 litre, French oak barrels. Processed organically. Complex ripe red and black fruit and Mediterranean scrub aromas with chalk and mineral hints (the wine reflects the slate soil, Llicorella, which vines grow on). Full-bodied, smooth and balanced in the mouth, with a remarkably fresh finish. Pairs with all sorts of grilled meat (i.e. Iberico pork, lamb and beef).
