Collection: Bodegas Obalo

Bodegas Obalo is a relatively young bodega (founded in 2006), which, under the leadership of oenologist Susana Rodriguez, has built a robust reputation in a short space of time as a producer of good, modern, Rioja wines. The bodega is located in Rioja Alta, in Abalos, a small town in the shadow of the Cantabrian mountains. It channels the Atlantic winds and forms a natural barrier against cold fronts from the north. This subregion is considered one of the best wine areas in the world, because of its location, the influence of the Sierra Cantabria and its chalky, clay soils. The vineyards are between 40 and 90 years old and are planted exclusively with Tempranillo.
