100% Tempranillo (known locally as Tinto Fino). This Tinto Fino is made from 120-year-old pre-Phylloxera vines. These are grown on the Valdegatiles plot at an altitude of 950 metres. The soil consists of a 1.6 metre sand and loam top layer above a limestone layer beneath. This plot is also characterised by its high clay content. The thickness of the top layer and the composition of the soil form the basis of the power and structure of this wine. 18 months in French oak barrels. Only 2,800 bottles of this wine were made. Intense tobacco aromas with a rich bouquet of ripe red and black fruit. Bold taste of the same ripe fruit. Nicely structured tannins that keep the wine in perfect balance. Impressive finish. Pairs nicely with red meat, mushrooms stews, ripe cheese and the black truffle typical of Soria.
