Collection: Bodegas Lorente y Barba

The new kid on the block, but one that still has a history. The bodega was founded in 2016 by Mauricio Lorente and Julio Barba. Mauricio’s grandfather and father worked as almacenistas making wine in the 1970s. Both the winery and the brand were sold but the best soleras were kept and form the basis of this new bodega. Therefore the wines are new to the market in bottled form. The building itself is 500 years old. Everything is done by hand without pumping, filtering or an automatised bottling line.

The selection for bottling is also carried out in an unusual way: instead of mixing wine from different barrels in order to obtain a 'recognisable and consistent' product, each bottling consists of a maximum of 225 bottles all from the same barrel. And seeing that no two barrels are the same, every bottling is different. The number of the barrel is also given on the label.
