Collection: Finca Río Negro

In 1998 the Fuentes family decided to found Finca Río Negro and make wine again in a region, which despite a strong and old tradition, had stopped producing wine following the arrival of Phylloxera in the 1920s.

The bodega is located in Cogolludo, Province of Guadalajara, in the hills of Sierra Norte in the Guadalajara Natural Park. The Río Negro vineyards are located at an altitude of more than 1,000 metres, on a complex tapestry of different soils, with huge temperature changes between day and night. The average annual temperature 12°C. Precipitation: 561 mm.

Het estate consists of 42 hectares of vineyards, planted with Tempranillo, Tinto Fragaso, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Gewürtztraminer. The entire area will soon be certified organic.
