Collection: Callejuela
Callejuela was established in 1980 by Francisco Blanco Martinez. He already had 20 years of experience working in the region's vineyards when he began making must which he sold as an almacenista to other bodegas. Meanwhile he also made small amounts of wine for family use. Over the course of the years, he managed to buy 28 hectares of land in a few of the best pagos of the region – like Macharnudo and Añina in Jerez and El Hornillo and La Callejuela in Sanlúcar.
Nowadays, his sons Pepe and Paco Blanco manage the bodega with an open, fresh spirit, and he also works for Ximénez-Spinola, for example, assisted by Ramiro Ibañez, a young, innovative oenologist. In 1997, the bodega moved to Pago El Hornillo so that the entire process from vine to bottling could be brought together in one place. Callejuela was registered as a brand in 1998 and in 2005 the first bottles of Manzanilla were bottled. It was only in 2015 that a whole series of different wines were brought to market: El Cerro, Blanquito, Quinario, ...
