100% Tempranillo (known locally as Tinta de Toro). 80- to 100-year-old vines. These are planted on the left bank of the Duero, on very small plots where the soil consists mostly of sand and pebbles. 12 months in French oak barrels (60% of which are new). Wild berry, red fruit and candied fruit aromas. A nice touch of wood, soft herbs and hints of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Rich, warm and fleshy in the mouth, with gossamer tannins. Still relatively young for such a complex wine. It will evolve into a top wine in the next few years. Pairs nicely with red meat, game, hard cheese and well seasoned stews.
